A Frisian Company

In 2017, Van Vuuren participated in the Frisian Company of the Year competition. After an initial elimination round involving roughly a hundred companies, we qualified for the final five in the semi-finals. The five companies presented themselves to a jury, followed by extensive questioning. Also, companies were assessed based on the Business Maturity Model Scan by Deloitte. This scan examined the ‘maturity’ of the companies based on strategy and degree of innovation, as well as operations and financial results.

After an exciting semi-final, Van Vuuren made it into the top-3 of Frisian Companies. A jury visit at our production facility marked the start of the final round. On this great final day, our director Dennis Gijsman was once again subjected to critical questions from a panel of judges. Unfortunately, it was not enough to take the win. Van Vuuren ended as a proud runner-up, just behind winner Probo located in Dokkum.
